So Mrs SOB and the little SOBs wanted BLTs for supper the other night....I said OMG!!!

    Mee too!

Now I like Blts but not really fond of making them....takes a long time splattering up the stove to make enough bacon for everybody and

having it all done at the same time is just as hard, so I put on my dunce cap and decided to keep the mess outside!

I used my big verticle smoker to bake/smoke the bacon slices so they could all be done at the same time!

Broiled the toast on a rack and had all the fixins set out ahead of time....It worked great!

Heres some pics!

It worked.... bacon was great! Corn was bad! Wow what a failer!  Oh well!  Did I mention the Bacon was great!

 Oooooooo....check out the bear view!

Great looking meal SOB. When we do a large bacon cook (for 9 grandkids) we have been doing it in the oven on sheet pans and this looks like a great idea. I might still use the sheet pans to cut down on the grease clean up. Awesome job and looking mighty tasty.

This is Mrs Scar and my Sunday Football breakfast meal - so it will get a try

What an awesome idea, SOB!!!

I never thought of that!!!----Oven, toaster oven, frying pan, but never smoker!!!!

Nice BearView too!!!

I know you said the Bacon was great, but did it get any tougher after 2 hours??---Maybe even more tender????

Thanks Buddy!

Bear

That looks fantastic. I do 90% of my bacon frying on the grill. I got tired of cleaning up the kitchen stove and tried the grill one morning. Never went back. Sure saves a ton of clean up time. Never thought about the smoker but my bacon is already smoked.

Looks great!!

I use the oven (400) with the sheet pan lined with foil and thos round dispoable grill grates from dollar general.

Been using the same grates for months....

  Have a great day!!

That looks awesome! Did I miss the temp you smoked at?

What could have made the corn bad? Did it dry out? I usually soak mine & then wrap in a green chili & lime butter. It looked like you had the bacon dripping on the corn? That can't be bad can it?

I was worried it might get rubbery...like on a fattie...but it was great. when I pulled it it wasn't to crispy, but while it sat and cooled down while I got the sammies ready it got nice and crispy! But not tough!

The clean up was a big factor in my deciding to try this...but I wanted a way to get it all done at once.

What a Great Idea!

Thanks Todd!...Your unit made it nice and smokey...to me most store bought hams, bacon, sausage are too bland!  In my opinion more smoke the better!

You Da'Man!

The one time I tried it in te oven I used a baking stone with a sheet pan on the next rack down...bacon was awesomw but the grease missed the sheet pan and burned on the oven bottom! Opps!!.My DumDum mistake. The smell of the over charred bacon grease was nasty!

Awesome, now I want a BLT.

I think it was 235* on the grates! the corn wasnt the freshest and it was below the bacon....it had a good taste but the texture was BAD!! Chewy and dry!

Thanks for all the nice comments everybody!

SOB...and the whole bunch of SOBs!

SOB, Evenin'..........The corn was bad ???????....How could that be.........with bacon dripping  on it ?????  I mean come on........it was really good and you just don't want to share the "new way to cook corn"..........or was the corn really bad........Dave

Absolutely a great idea and with my Smoke Vault I can crank the temp up & get it crispy.

Thanks!

Dave,  the flavor was alright...but the texture was chewy and dry.  a combination of it being not so fresh and cooked too long I think.

I wish I had watched it better...opps!

Yep I think if you can crank up the temp like an oven it doesnt need to take as long as mine did!

Good luck give it a try!
