With all due respect to Dutch's recipe, a lot of people don't like pineapple. And I guarantee that my beans are to die for. S, if you're anti-pineapple, this is the one. I have made this for years, and have seen people tryo to eat the whole pan in 1 sitting.

Recipe Details

Makes:1 pan

Prep Time:
10 minutes

Cook Time:
2 1/2 hour

Servings:
8 I

Ingredients

2 16- to 18-ounce cans pork and beans
6 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 cup ketchup

Directions

  • Empty 1 can pork and beans into greased casserole. Combine sugar and mustard, then sprinkle half of mix over beans. Top with remaining beans. Sprinkle rest of sugar mix, ketchup and bacon over beans. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hours or smoke at 275 for 3 1/2 hours.

Them's fighting words! Not sure anything will ever touch Dutch's beans, but I'm willing to give it a shot :)

sounds pretty darn close to my recipe, only I add sauteed sweet onions, ground beef, and worcestershire sauce. Oh and I think there's some vinegar thrown in too for tang.
