I know everyone has their favorite BBQ sauce they use, mine has always been Hunts Hickory and Brown Sugar. I like how it had a deeper flavor, and didn't taste like BBQ ketchup. Unfortunately, they quit making it a couple of years ago. I bought all the bottles I could find when I learned this but have just opened my last bottle - which means after its empty my BBQ won't taste the same anymore.

Does anyone else like this brand of BBQsauce and have you found a replacement?

Kinders Hickory brown sugar is good , as is Country Bob's . Regular or the Hickory brown sugar .

I know Sweet Baby Ray's and Kinder's have a Hickory & Brown Sugar flavor. Probably several other brands also. Do not know how they compare to Hunts. But they are solid brands. In case you have not seen this thread, it may give you a few more to try.

Im just not that big of a fan of Sweet Baby Ray's sauces. The regular sauce is ok, but its kinda like sweetened smokey ketchup. The Hunts was darker, almost came out black once I sauced up ribs for that last hour. Didnt taste like ketchup at all.

Blues Hog, and Killer Hogs are mostly what we use. Killer Hogs vinegar sauce is great. Blues hog original is very good, they make a red sauce I also like quite a bit.

^^^^^^^^and the Blues Hog comp sauce is also pretty good. Lately I've been using a lot of the Texas Pete sauces.

For sweet sauces, we like a local sauce called Country Side. I also really like Meat Mitch's Naked. It's sweet. They also have a WHOMP sauce with a little heat, not screaming hot.

I like em all. Some better than others but sauce is good in my BBQ world.

Stubbs products probably get purchased the most since they're always on the self around here. I'm also not shy about adding my own "flair" to commercial brands every now and then.

My goal is to try them all. I'm still working on that goal :)

What part of the country are you in?
What kind of bbq sauce do you like? In Kansas City bbq it's very thick very sweet. In North Carolina it is basically just colored vinegar with little sweetness (your take on it may vary). Each area has it's own preferences and styles.

In TX, OK, Kansas area you can get your hands on Head Country which is worth a try for you.
I can always live with plain Kraft Original. It is a little thick and sweet but can be thinned out easily with a little water.

My all time favorite is Rudy's BBQ Sause. It's what I think about "Texas" style bbq sauce. Has sweetness but not overly sweet. Has spice to it. Has savory flavors. To me it has all good characteristics and they are blended perfectly to be the best bbq sauce I have had and prefer. Someone who likes NC vinegar sauce and doesn't want a little kick and savor may not like it at all :)
