I'm over in FL so we pay attention around this time of year too. I like Levi's videos at Tropical Tidbits. You get the deep analytics that make up the forecast without any sensationalism.

His video from today talks a lot about the wind shear on approach. Might be worth a watch.

Stay safe and party hard afterwards.

Hang in there Keith! I contacted my good buddy who lives in Pierre Part and he actually went to work in West Texas and his wife is holding down the home this round.

My thoughts are will all affected by this storm.

Storm track has shifted again slightly more east. The Eye of the storm is now projected to track over La Place. La. in between Baton Rouge and New Orleans...so just SE of where I am at. That would be good for me, but bad for people farther SE. Doing good this morning. Still got power. Light rain as the first rain bands come onshore...

Hope everyone can stay safe. We'll be praying for all of you, for sure.

Just checking in from my phone..can't sleep ....

68% of the town is without power...38k homes. The ground was already soaked so any weak trees came down. Trees everywhere according to my cousin out surveying the damage. 2 fatalities so far...
