South Louisiana-Yes, it is HOT
We are in the bullseye now that the storm's track has shifted east and predictions for strengthening keep getting higher. Now forecast to reach CAT2 status. Definitely NOT a good trend. Will watch it closely. Gonna suck no doubt! Will be doing storm prep all day tomorrow....Stay safe everyone in the path of this storm.

Stay safe Kieth. Cat 2 is serious for sure. Doesn’t it kinda depend on which side of the the storm your on relative to the eye? Or no?

Stay safe Indie and I know you will prep correctly. Goes without saying and not sure what we can do but, let us know if there is anything we can do to help pre/post storm?

Yeah, the hurricanes spin counterclockwise so the east side is the bad side with winds blowing straight off the gulf onto land. We are projected to be on the east side...

I'm not really worried for anything more than maybe a power outage here locally for a CAT 2 storm....if it is stronger than that, I get real nervous. Seem some really scary stuff in the aftermath of some really strong storms....

But, Power goes out at the house, I'm packing up the dog and going to to firehouse!!! They got gennies there....and A/C!! LOL!!!
I spent 5 days in the firehouse I volunteered at in 1985 with hurricane Gloria. I remember running ahead of the ambulance cutting downed trees (chainsaw) and cutting downed power lines with an axe to get the "bus" through to a chest pain call.

Yeh it seems to be turning more towards you. As a Cat 2 most should be fine. Anything over Cat 3 I go North now. I should be fine in Lake Charles but I will be heading towards it to make sure dad is good. If it stays towards Lafayette it will put him on the West side. Praying for everyone's safety.

Latest estimates are for 60-70mph gusts here locally.....and 65-85 mph gusts in Greater Baton Rouge. But that totally depends on the final track path the storm takes.

A cooler full of food and the gang will be happy to host you for a long stay?

Used to live in Evansville IN years ago. Learned that hurricanes can extend that far north up the Mississippi river and Ohio rivers. Was just heavy rains by the time it got

Stay safe Keith and anyone else in the path. Sucks that you are projected to be on the dirty side of the storm.

Looks like you're gonna get lucky with the lower speed of the winds, but I'm not sure about the storm surge.
