Hello from Alpena. There still some of us around.

Well cool. I was just in Alpena a couple weeks back for work. I'm actually retired from the state (32 years) ands now I work for my bro-in-law. He does asbestos abatement and I went to Alpena to do a walk through of one of the buildings downtown to bid a job there. I always liked the area and its shipping history. Is Alabaster just south of town, or is that south of Rogers City....I forget?

If you’re here in the summer check out Austin Bros. Not traditional BBQ fair but they do a pretty decent Tri Tip on their smoker and some decent local brews.
I believe Alabaster is south of Tawas.

You are correct, Alabaster is south of Tawas. It's been a while but I was over there once when the gypsum trolly system running out into the lake was still being used.

Funny you mention try-tip. My wife (who may be a better cook than me) just grilled up a try-tip last night for dinner.
