Isn't sirloin kinda lean? If I'm right, smoke away, but don't go much over about med rare to med. Don't dry that booger out.
Never smoked one, but hopefully this bump will move it up the list for someone who has.
Do a search for Tri-Tip; same thing.
I'm with P³, though. You can smoke it, but I wouldn't go much higher than Medium Rare.

I have smoked tri tip before dont take it past 140 .Let it rest for at least 20 min in a foil tent .I did that and it was the juiciest tri tip i ever had.
