Air Dried Serranos

I have some serrano peppers I grew summer before last. They have been sitting in a basket over my stove ever since. They are totally dried now. There is no mold or rotting or anything like that. Would they still be good? I'd like to grind them up to use instead of cayenne. I'm not a fan of cayenne.
