Hi all,
I wanted to drop a note and make sure to give a special thanks to each and every ol'timer here on SMF. It takes a kind and special person, to take the time to share (and be patient with) all of us other folk who are learning the art of smoking.

I owe a great deal of gratitude to you all. I have been able to become the supreme 'meat cooker' of my family for all of the holidays and special occasions.

There is something very special, about being the guy who makes the 'best' dish at Christmas or Thanksgiving.

We owe it all to the peeps here on the board.

From all of us noobs,
We dearly appreciate the fact you all are willing to teach and share with us the fine art of smoking.

and believe me from us- we can burnt up some grub in a heartbeat too- the more i learn the less i know (thats just me talkin')but seriously- grab grub all the info ya can then go back & k.i.s.s.(keep it simple stupid)thats the best advice i could give- don't overthink yourself, go by man instinct, & let the wood & fire do it's magic.like anything else- it just takes practice- & a hefty meat bill

I agree, this is a special place. Thanks guys and gals for all the help and info. And thanks for having me here.

Hey MobCounty,I agree, We do have people who wil take the time out to help, thanks to the Seasoned Smokers and the rest of SMF

I'm not really an old timer here... it feels that way, but I'll chime in...

MobCounty, that was a nice thing you did by posting this.

All too often, new folks come in, grab what they want and never come back or thank anyone. Then there's the unfortunate few times where someone says something that someone else doesn't like, a flame war starts, they get pissed and walk away. Kinda sad, but that's life on the 'net.

But I digress...

Anyway, I'm glad to be part of this forum, and very glad you have chosen to be here and grow with us. Helping others, learning and sharing... That's what it is all about for sure. Stick around, it can only get better!

I'd like to add my thanks too. There are so many nice folks here, ready and willing to help. Thank you for being here and thanks again Jeff for the chance you've given us to share and learn.

HawgHeaven, you aren't an old timer, but to me you are one of the seasoned smokers that I look up to.

Hawg, was new here in August. Basically I was a lurker looking to take what I wanted and needed. Fortunately for me there is way to much to take in, in one or two sittings. Now thankfully for me......you guys are stuck with me. I'm not going anywhere. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to learn from all of you guys both seasoned and otherwise. This is a fascinating time in history we live in, where comunications are at our fingertips and we can absorb the knowledge of most anyone who will share it. Thank you TulsaJeff, and everyone else who supports this forum. I'm just glad to be here.

MobCo -- Very well said. My learning curve has been virtually flattened on the basics of pulled pork using an electric ECB thanks to the knowledgeable folks here who are willing to share openly. My family and now my co-workers much appreciate this.

I tell everyone who asks or who I know likes to grill about this site and how helpful it is and that they should purchase the rub recipe or something to support it in appreciation.

I also thank Jeff as keeping a site like this focused and clear of some of the internet's not so nice elements. This takes a ton of work. Thank you.

OLD ... yea, probably older than some of you. SEASONED ... I learn something new everyday from what ya call "newbies". I know I don't post & Q-View as much as other's, (I just kinda sit back & watch) , but that's because "ya newbies" have already given the best advise possible to a question. On some answers I think, why haven't I tried that? So... I am still learning......

Thanks for the compliments and this great forum.

Indeed, this place has taught me alot as well. Especially in the quality smoking dep't. I have been around a kitchen for a good long while, but the only way to learn there is by mistakes mostly. The smoking advice here will virtually eliminate the old "trial and error" method of learning, given the chance.

Thanks "Old Timers" hehehe!

I agree with all of you. This is a very enjoyable part of my day.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season.
