That is really amazing. Beautiful in so many ways!! I love how you're incorporating the copper into the sheath as well. It will complement the ironwood perfectly. If I owned that, I don't know if I could ever bring myself to use it.
Thanks BDS! This has been a very fun build and copper and ironwood are best friends in my book! The ironwood is a PIA to work with though, it’s rock hard, gummy, and clogs up belts and bits, but if you have patience and do the work (oh burn up the sand paper) it pays off! I believe it’s only use will be shaving and cutting paper but hey that’s ok to!
That would have to be in a display case on the mantle. Beautiful work Civil!

Much appreciated Keith! I sure hope this one makes the mantle at that level…..that would likely translate to some “real” scholarship funds!!!

Ok the sheath is all done.......It glows and its actually iridescent now that its polished. It's now a waiting game till the auction in November!

Every detail is a thing of beauty Civil! It's always a joy to watch someone with considerable skills craft something beautiful from raw materials! My hat's off to you brother! Very nicely done!
