Pros - Compact (doesn't take up much room in the garage), solid and well-built, easy to use and clean
Cons - I would have liked a digital temperature control with internal temp readout
I purchased this smoker this past spring (2016) and have used it numerous times to smoke ribs, roasts, chicken, and recently jalapeño peppers (the chipotles turned out beatifully after about 20 hours of low heat and low smoke!) This was my first foray into smoking (other then the limited smoking I could accomplish on my Weber grill -- which allowed me to make some superb bacon). I took several months to research all of the models and talk to folks who use them. This forum was a spectacular place to come for information. This fall I'll be trying my first bacon in this smoker, and I purchased the accessories to make jerky and smoke cheese, too. I'm very happy with my purchase and could recommend to anyone interested in smoking to give this line of smokers a close look.

Pros - Stainless steel, built like a tank, great temp control, easy to use
Cons - Shoulda bought the bigger one
I love this little smoker, it is great for smokin jobs for small parties and the family.  My meat comes out with a nice crust, nicely smoked.  I have put chicken, pork butt, sausages, jalapeno poppers, brisket and of course ribs.  This little smoker just churns them out with perfection.  The one down side is that I have to split my racks of ribs in two as it will not hold a full rack on the grate.  So I should have bought a bigger one but for the family it is the perfect size.

    Pros - cooks with chunks
Cons - can run approx. 20 degrees warmer than dial says, but this is most electric smoker
Stupid proof smoker. Excellant smoker at a cheaper price than the Cookshack/Smokin Tex.

smoked a 5 lb pork roast first time on the little #1 used a couple chunks apple .. fantastic easiest smoke i've ever done . think this was a good investment for small smokes. the absolute basic electric smoker  built like a bomb.

I've had my #1 since February and used it about 15 times. It works great and the capacity is reasonable. I can easily do about 20 lbs in it. It is a shame about the ribs; I also cut my racks to fit them in.

The poster never responded and if you read his comment carefully, he never says the smoker doesn't get above 150, he says his meat didn't get above 150 in a certain amount of time. It could be a matter of the meat hitting a stall and the poster not knowing better. I came to these comments to see if he had actually put a probe into the smoker to see what the actual temperature was but I don't see any evidence of that.

I have had no issues with mine. It cooks like it should. I have a pork loin going on right now. As others said, call it in because something isn't right.

I was just wondering what more your smoker can do for you? You listed only positive with no negative comments...then gave it a rating of 4? Sounds like a 5 to me.

I had a #2 and sold it to a friend. He is loving it and I bought a #3 to replace it. I have been traveling and haven't had the chance to do anything other than season it. I have some salmon and short ribs being prepared for the #3's big debut tomorrow! Enjoy your new smoker!

I commented earlier with no response...I was curious just how he determined that it was only heating to 150 F. I have found that my test thermometer is often inaccurate. It would seem obvious to test with more than one, but I find that many people do not. My Smokin-it 1 has been perfect in every way. Also, customer service is excellent at Smokin-it...try it.
