Pros - USA made to best of my knowledge, Reasonable construction, easy to assemble, NO MISSING PARTS (a first) Relitively easy to move & is quite lite,
Cons - Slidder door/access to heat sorce & water dish has a lot of air leak & hard to control heat, The fit on the lid is also rather sloppy.
I purchased this smoker to again give smoking a try. I had been a avid meat/fish smoker years ago long before all of the temperature controlled available smokers & temperature monitoring equipment was available. I think I made my first one from a couple Brinkman pieces & added a salvaged propane burner to start my wood, quite primitive but accomplished a lot very good & delicious meats & quite a bit of fish. Got away due to time constraints & settled in for just a top of the line Jenn Air 4 burner SS grill which I still own. Now wanting to satisfy myself I want to get back into the smoking process I have invested in Thermo Works Thermapen, Dual Smoke monitor, 2 DOT temperature devices & This new Meco Charcoal Water Smoker. Have used it now several ti9mes & got reasonably used to temperature control, however this is time consuming due to heat loss but quite manageable. I would say for a new first time person to start & really see if they want to get serious, this isn't a bad purchase. Got mine from Heyneedle shipped for $69.00 so I am well satisfied with what I have & since have added castors to the three legs to simplify moving under cover when not in use on my pad.
