    Pros - Price $38.95 (Home Depot/Walmart)
    Cons - More work
This smoker is very easy to use.  I highly recommend following Jeff's modification instructions for this ECB.  I made all the suggested mods and its working great.  Its far from a set it and forget it smoker.  I have to constantly be watching the temperature and opening the door to let out heat.  I have the opposite problem than most; My smoker runs hot not cool.

Here is mine with the mods.  Coal pan with vent holes (8 in each side):

Took apart an old grate for support to raise the coals off the bottom of the pan:

Pros - inexpensive, easy to use
Cons - water pan access, charcoal pan access
Got this smoker as a gift for my first smoker. It was picked up at Wal-Mart for 26 bucks, after reading this forum and making a few Mods, ( digital thermometer, top vent, reverse the legs) it has turned out to be a reliable smoker for the past 2 1/2 years. I also picked up the adapter that transforms it into a propane smoker for those times i need to smoke but don't have the time to babysit the temp. Overall if your thinking about getting into smoking but aren't sure if you will stick with it pick up this bad boy and give it a try!!! and trust me you will get hooked!

Pros - Price! Ease of use
Cons - Can't use when the weather gets cold
Recieved this as a Christmas gift.  It was my first smoker so I can't offer a great comparison valued review, however for the prices I've seen listed and for how easy it is to use, it's great for the newbie.

Pros - Simple Smoker good for grilling as well as smoking.
Cons - Small, hard to keep fire going
This was my first smoker.  And before I new what I was doing.  Smoking meat turned out better on this for not knowing what I was doing than it did on my horizontal smoker.  I haven't tried it since knowing what I'm doing but will real soon.

The fire box on this one is hard to get to once the smoking process in in motion.  It's not to hard to get wood added to the box but the coal bed needs to be really hot when the wood is added.  adding charcoal to the fire box is a real pain.   The opening is really small and getting coal into the box you need to use a fireplace ash shovel.  But it needs to be a real small shovel or you need to fold in the sides of the shovel so it will fit through the opening.  It is small.

I've though about trying to mod this with an electric element in the fire box and using trager pellets.

Would I buy this again, probably not. unless I just wanted one to smoke/grill hamburgers or chicken.

Pros - it smokes so good and the rack placement gives you a variety of options that if you use your imagination so many things can be done with this smoker g
Cons - only thing i can say is that it could be just tall enough for one more rack
I smoke meat on this and i grill meat on this and i use charcoal and i use propane via homemade by putting the smoker over my turkey fryer burner and the kicker too is that you have the option to go electric also. what else could anyone want in one smoker/grill. the way the dome is set up allows for awesome smoke and heat distribution along with good airflow. in my past years of buying gas grills and charcoal grills i have had some good times with those but Charlette is the one for me and the price is awesome too! will never ever buy a gas grill or charcoal grill other than this one when she gets on in years.
