This was my 4th time smoking a pork butt and it came out competition style. I'm so excited. The secret is a little bit of hickory and a lot of peach wood. I forgot to take a picture off the butt, however, here's the end result!
Thanks for your advice. I was considering the smoke it but I am also buying a car this week so I didn't want to overwhelm the wife.
I actually may eventually go with a real offset smoker at some point if I become passionate enough about this.
What should I get? I had the G2 MES but it had all kinda of problems and had to load wood every 45 minutes to an hour. I was thinking 50 inch G2 MES but thought I'd check first.
Turned out very well. Took 18 hours and I smoked with a bit of hickory and a lot of applewood most of the cook. Tasted better than any pulled pork I've had except for the whole hog cafe in Little Rock, AR.
I love pulled pork.
