    First pulled pork

That it does bear! Everyone loved it that's for sure. I've got plenty of people up where I'm at wanting me to cook stuff for events and what not in the summer, one of the reasons I plan on building myself a BBQ trailer when I have downtime this summer.

    First pulled pork

Thanks for the like Eddie! I did it so the rub would get down into the meat and to help the smoke penetrate into the meat better as well. Followed one of bearcarver's pulled pork recipes from his step by step index actually.

Thanks Al! I was definitely pleased with how it came out, and the girls loved every bit of it.

    First pulled pork

Always, no matter what I'm doing they're always right there with me unless they're at their moms on the weekend.

    First pulled pork

I know exactly how that goes. Until the past couple years going anywhere to eat or even shopping involved at least a 40 minute drive. I live much closer to restaurants and what not now but my girls like the food we make together better and view eating out as a treat. Much healthier that way too.

    First pulled pork

Thanks Jim! First time I ever liked pulled pork too, one of the reasons I rarely go out to eat unless the kids are begging me to go somewhere, if I can make it myself where it's better and cheaper I would much rather do that.

    First pulled pork

Hah yep, nothing stops me from getting something in the smoker or on the grill that's for sure. I'll have to make some for the one we are doing in June. Planning on bringing a couple racks of ribs, and I'm gonna grill up a bunch of stuff while I'm there while the kids and parents play slip n...

    First pulled pork

Thanks disco! Whenever I'm trying something new I usually keep a very close eye on it so if something starts going south I can catch it quick. Thankfully this one went off without a hitch.

    First pulled pork

Thanks! I've always loved cooking and grilling since I was a little one so I've always tried to get my girls involved as well. They're my little princesses who have no issues playing in the dirt, working on vehicles, or fishing.

    First pulled pork

Haha that will do it, I keep mine on an enclosed porch and just prop the door open to keep the smoke from building up. I also have no problem going out in the kind of cold because the kids want to play in the snow. Thanks Walt! A little bit of sauce goes a long way in my opinion, people around...

    First pulled pork

I'm never off bbq duty and that's just the way I like it. Up here nothing stops me, even when there's a temp of -10 and a windchill that drops it to -30 I'm doing something with the smoker or grill. Luckily I've got my two beautiful daughters who love to help and get dirty.

    First pulled pork

You have no idea hah. I've been cooking for these meetings for the past 2 years and usually the week before the meeting the parents are requesting something to be made. Most often it's either my smoked mac and cheese or my thai chicken wings but I like to mix it up. They all said this is another...

    First pulled pork

Hey all, Been a bit since I've posted. This is a pulled pork I did a few days ago, first attempt at pulled pork since I used to never be a fan of it due to every time I've ever had it, it was soaked in bbq sauce. My youngest daughters' school holds monthly meetings with the parents in her class...

    Eye of Round Smoke

Can't wait to see how it turns out! I'm going to be prepping a smaller eye round for roast beef myself today actually. First chore is pulling the blade off my hobart slicer and honing it nice before using the sharpening stones on it.

    Cure in marinates and brines

Learn something new, sorry for giving out false info. I mainly meant for when used as more of a marinade or overnight brine when you aren't actually looking to cure the meat. When doing bacon and such I do use the recipe for a full gallon of brine though. I see exactly what you mean when you say...

    Different Take on a Fatty

Thanks Al! Believe me, I thought for sure it was going to be overstuffed when I was throwing it together.

    Cure in marinates and brines

I follow pops brine recipe a lot and rarely make a gallon of it. 4 quarts in a gallon so if you're only making a quart, cut the ingredients by 3/4. So 1/4 TBSP of Cure.
