    MES Digital Smokers

I have had a 30" MES for 2 years and haven't had any problems with it.  The only complaint I have is that the temperature gauge is not accurate.  I have a Maverick 732 I use with it and it reads about 20 degrees cooler than the one on the unit.  I like it though, because it is basically trouble...

    Masterbuilt propane smokers

I love the convenience of an electric smoker.  I have a MES 30" model and it is great except that it is too small to smoke a whole brisket or a whole slab of spare ribs without cutting them in two.  Does Masterbuilt make a 40" electric model?  Or, do some of you guys have other suggestions for...

Neighbor got a Brinkman Trailbalzer for Xmas...not going so well..advice?

Thanks for the advice JIR.  I will sure look into that WSM. I love my MES for the convenience and it is good for most smokes for my wife, son, and myself, but when the rest of the kids and grandchildren come home it is a little small.  I would be interested in knowing where you got yours...

Neighbor got a Brinkman Trailbalzer for Xmas...not going so well..advice?

Some of us don't have the skills and tools to do all of these mods that seem to be necessary to turn out a good product.  So my question is, what type of horizontal charcoal/wood smoker can one buy out ot the box that will do the job without all the modifications?  I have a 30" MES that...

    SMOKER CLEANING

I cleaned my MES one time.  Swore I would never do it again.  I do clean my racks and drip pan.  Don't have a window.  Don't reckon I need one.

    How Many Mes Owners Here?

I bought my MES 30" earlier this year and have used it for ribs, butts, chicken, turkey, and fatties.  I love it because it is not labor intensive like my gas smoker is.  Never could control the temp without standing over it all the time.  My MES allows me to enjoy my other passion, college...

Soaking wood is a NO NO

Oh, I know that 300 is way too high to smoke.  I was just saying that my smoker would creep up that high if I didn't watch it.  I like to try to keep it around 225.  How does one go about checking the psi on the regulator.  My wood tray is not more than 2 inches above the burner.  Do I need to...

Soaking wood is a NO NO

Well, I am a Newbie as far as this forum is concerned, but I have been grillin' and smokin' for a while now.  I have always soaked the chips because I didn't want them to burn up too quickly.  I have learned some things from reading this line of discussion on soaking or no soaking.  I am going...

    4 Fatties and some stuff

One thing is for sure.  Fire it up has an imagination and creativity going there.  I've never done a fatty but I might just have to try that someday.  But no bananas!
