I pulled 2 butts off the smoker at 6:30 am, wrapped them in foil and a towel and then placed them in a cooler. We're not eating them until 3:00 pm this afternoon.
My question is, how long can I leave the butts in the cooler before I should pull them out and shred? Could I wait all the way up...
Same here. Put a 20 lb bird on at7am this morning. Four hours later and IT is at 165. Dinner isn't until 4:00. That's going to be a long wait in the cooler. I was expecting a 9 hour smoke time.
Put on a 20lb bird at 7am this morning and expected a 9 - 10 hour smoke. Been operating the temp between 300 and 325 to be sure to hit 140 mark in 4 hours. In just 2.5 hours the breast has an IT of 145. Do turkeys stall like other meats? If not this bird will be done 5 hours early! I'm going...
I have a few questions regarding my turkey preparation tomorrow.
1. Do you think an 18 pound bird cooked at 300 – 325 degrees will hit 140 degree internal temp within 4 hours?
2. I've read several different opinions regarding how long it takes to cook a turkey based on the weight. I’ve read...
Got my 40" 1200 watt with window from Amazon back in July. I've done a half dozen smokes since ranging from brisket to ribs. After one attempt using the chip tray I purchased the AMAZN smoker. Was impressed with the ease of use and the lengthy smoking times.
However, I have to say that I'm not...
I hate to say this but how ironic. I bought a 12x12 tile last night too and at 4 am got up and started up my brand new smoker (this is only my 3rd smoke). After about 5 minutes the temps on my 732 were not rising when there was a pop. I opened the smoker and the heating element was on fire. I...
Have read a lot of posts on this topic and didn't find the answer to my question. My question is what you do after you apply the EVOO or mustard. Do you just sprinkle on the rub and leave the meat as is or do you spread the evoo/mustard around with the rub. Hopefully this question makes sense.
Hopefully it wasn't beginners luck but the amaz n smoker worked great. I dried a cup of the cherry pellets for one minute in the microwave as suggested, opened the tray 1" and the loader 2" and the vent was fully open. I got the pellets going with the amazn torch and let them burn for a while...
Looking forward to trying out my new Amazin smoker tomorrow and was wondering how long some of you microwave your pellets to dry them out? I did a test run outside of the smoker earlier this evening and I was having difficulty keeping it lit. Is there an amount of time per row of pellets?
