I have the option of getting the Masterbuilt XL from BPS for the same price as the MasterForge Dual Door from Lowes.
Other than the size difference and the cheapo chip tray in the XL - any other difference??
Anyone have a good skirt steak marinade? I am tailgaiting on Sunday for a football game and was going to make skirt steak on the grill.
Also smoking some ABT's , chicken wings, and beans.
Thx.

Just curious if anyone ever heard of them?

I use my Weber all the time - i bought the Smokenator and it works great.
I get about a 6 hour burn at about 225' which is perfect for ribs. I have done pulled pork on it with great results.
The only problem is it doesnt hold alot of food. I have done 3 6lb butts on it but nothing more than that.
Give the foil a try - it helps on the Weber.
Also, get your self a digital thermometer that way you dont have to open the grill to keep looking.
Good Luck!
I use my kettle to do my pork butts all the time. Couple questions -
How many pounds was your shoulder? I use smaller butts on the Weber to cut down on the cooking time. I have done 3 - 6 lb butts at once and finished in about 12 hours.
Did you think about foiling the meat once it hit 165?
If...
Looking for a cheap gas smoker for a friend.
I know Lowes has the Master Forge- Dual Door for $149....does anyone have any input on Home Depot's Brinkman for the same price...
It doesnt take long to do it but I have a bunch of stuff to do tomorrow before starting the smoker so I was trying to save some time.
Thanks - I will do it in the morning before the kids get up and start causing the usual havoc.
I have smoked wings before but usually inject and rub them right before they go on the smoker. Has anyone ever injected them the night before and let them sit in the fridge. Dont know if they will get too mushy if i tried this.
Thanks!!
My lovely wife has offered to buy me a new smoker for my upcoming 30th bday..
I have a few vertical smokers but wanted a horizontal smoker w/ SFB.
Looking for something in the $200 - $300 range.
What does everyone recommend out there?
Thanks
I learned this lesson tailgaiting at 8 AM in a parking lot.
I usually just use the side burner on the gas grill to light the coals. The Weber chiminy fits perfect.
