    Master Built Electric Smokehouse

We've been lucky to have this at a location where we didn't have to worry about the electric bill. Now we're in an RV park where we will get billed for usage over a certain amount.  Tomorrow we're smoking a nice boneless pork butt and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what kind of usage...

The best laid plans - pork jowls

I haven't been on much since we moved to ND,  We didn't do any smoking over the winter, and we've been doing some (bought beautiful pork bellies in CA, put them in cure in the cooler and brought them home to ND to smoke).  It seems that things have conspired to put us on the road.  We bought a...

    Relocation re-introduction!

Well gang - we left California and moved here to ND! We've been so busy getting moved in, and winterized that we haven't had much time for smoking - poor GOSM is sitting out there feeling neglected and unloved. Some smart@ss left all of our tanks for the smoker back in CA - in the scope of...

    Wood chippers???

Well a new smoker that uses big chunks of wood is out of the question this year. Besides the GOSM is just about broken in good! My dilemma is that we live in the land of fruit and nut trees with some grape vines thrown in. I know that we can get the wood for next to nothing but we're...

    Homemade Linguica question?????

I've got some bulk linguica in the freezer (vac. sealed) that I made last spring. Can I thaw it, stuff it into casings, and smoke it? Or should we just eat that and make fresh??? I'm looking forward to making some more good Spanish chorizo and smoking it soon too.

A tall cool one - Blueberry Limoncellos

I didn't see a place to post a recipe for an adult beverage for sipping while smoking - if there's a better place and the mods want to move this great! I just made one of these and I'm sipping it while waiting for my first fattie to come out of the smoker. Blueberry Limoncellos...

    Chicken or turkey sausages???

Has anyone here made chicken or turkey sausages? My daughter does not eat red meat or pork and loves sausage. I've ordered some sheep casings so that I can make some for her. Hints, recipes, and tall tales welcome.

    Brinkmann "customer service"????

I've spent the day battling to get through to Brinkmann regarding a parts order! I started on first thing this am - 7:30 here; got a busy signal on a customer response number they gave me - all day long. I tried another of their 800 numbers (alternating) and got the same thing - all day long...

Just to introduce myself . . . my husband and I have been smoking meat for years but kinda dropped it since the smoker was one of those bullet shaped things and a pain to use. For my birthday this year he got me a beautiful vertical propane smoker so that I can play even when he's at work our...
