The below is my statement regarding SMF mgmt action "deleting" a possible controversial post/thread!  Specifically " I purchased my MES from Sam's, BUT! MES + AWNPS + Cheese

I have to admit I have been strictly a meat smoker,  mostly ribs & pork butt and a few other meats, however we decided to smoke cheese and give it away to neighbors and that small token gift you give visitors and friend. I did a bunch of reading, and the most prevalent problem was too much...

    Maverick ET-732 after 9 months

I luv my Mav ET-732, it really reduces the number of steps I used to walk from inside the house to outside cooking area just to check temps and or a smoke.  My normal routine is start a smoke in the MES then go inside and either watch TV or hang out on the computer, of if I have projects or...

Your car/truck broke into at your house? What next?

Yo all, This morning my wife discovered her car was either broke into or she left a door unlocked, nothing we thought was stolen, however the clove box & ash trays were gone through.  We reported it to our local police and even an officer came out and took a report.  We asked if they could...

    4th appetizer ideas wanted?

July 4th is coming up, and since I have owned a MES 40 for past 6 years, I am the designated cook/pitmaster, for our 4th family get together.  I always do BB ribs, both wet & dry, sometimes will do some spares st louis trimmed, and usually chicken thighs and some breasts.  Usually we have 30-50...

Bad Q, ummm it doesn't have that taste!

I have been experimenting lately twice on BB Ribs and on Pork Butt, different woods and procedures.  I just got a AMNPS & Maverick 732.  So far I have over cooked the ribs on both cooks, and couldn't keep the AMNPS lit, so resorted to trying some BIG chunks of wood, which produced too much heavy...

Why was the "Science + Sous Vide" Thread Locked?

I read the majority of posts in that thread, and really didn't see anything inflammatory, or provocative, in fact I wanted to comment, and discovered the thread is locked? I have been a member on this forum for 5 years, and seen locked threads and some very heated discussions, but honestly do...

Thats right this is my final post from this house! We bought a new (new to us) house (foreclosure) at the beginning of August, and today is last day of the move, just cleaning and have to move a half cord of oak fire wood.  Internet is still on because new house won't get service until...

    HELP! Gas Range Recommendations???

Next week we close escrow and move to a new (new to us) house.  While I got a great foreclosure deal, I am still limited on cash for upgrades.  The bank had put a brand new stove in, but it is the absolute cheapest stove made.  So I am going to sell it on Craigslist and replace with something...

Price Check- Propane 20lb tank exchange or refill in your area.

What is LP gas going for in your area? In my Sacramento Area, just did a Blue Rhino exchange for $18.47 + $1.67 tax or $20.09. I used to do refills, but the last LP refill station within 2 miles stopped doing it 2 years ago so no just doing exchanges.

Ate at a BBQ Restaurant and another big miss...........

I know there must be a decent BBQ joint in Sacramento Area, but I haven't ate at one yet.  Not that I go out of my way to find them, because the vast majority of Calif. BBQ joints are just plain BAD. In the area I live, I have tried 4 or 5, and tonight I added another to the list.  This one...

London Broil on the Smoker... w/ Qview

Nothing exciting to report, but I haven't been using the Ol MES lately, so thought I would do something simple.. London Broil is a tough piece of meat, I decided to try a different marinade, and it didn't produce a tender piece of meat, though this LB had good flavor, enough smoke, it was not...
