    Thanksgiving Joke

A lady called the food editor of the local newspaper. She asked, "How long must I cook a 28 lb turkey?" The editor reached for his chart, saying "Just a minute." "Thank you," she said, and hung up. Happy Thanksgiving to all. We are Blessed beyond the wildest dreams of most who have ever walked...

    Customer Complaint

Here is a link to a complaint re Jimmy Dean sausage. Be forewarned, it gets pretty eloquent. It also gets pretty funny. http://consumerist.com/consumer/audio/devoted-customer-upset-jimmy-dean-downsized-sausage-16oz-to-12oz-but-charges-same-price-322223.php

    'splain this

The Brinkmann elec includes lava rock for the fire pan. The conversion kit uses only a plate that holds the element and replaces the fire pan. Why? What difference would it make? I'm much more comfortable w consistency.

And now the Brinkmann Smoke N Grill

I notice that the Brinkmann Smoke N Grill differs from their All in One by having what appears to be a low-pressure burner and regulator and by heating a pan filled w lava rocks rather than using high-pressure to heat lava rocks on a grid. I would appreciate any comments and observations...

    American Gourmet

I notice a Charbroil "American Gourmet" offset smoker at WallyWorld. Wouldn't it be an absolute nightmare to try to maintain temp in something so small? Do wish I had one of the cute little fireboxes, however, should be just the ticket to make smoke for my Smoke Vault.

    Evaluate Brinkmann All-in-one

I think it would be quite interesting to study reports and evaluations of folks who have used the Brinkmann all-in-one. How do they compare with the more specialized units? Are there any techniques unique to using them? Etc.

    Stainless Quality

I found a propane grill that had about every feature on my want list and was both name-brand and affordable. Then I got the magnet out and discovered that the cabinet was made from lower quality, stainable "stainless." Later experimenting revealed that our "stainless" tableware (happily used...

    Prices?

I have several propane and diesel tanks that I no longer use. I have the welder and skill to make BBQ rigs of them. I don't need that many so my question is, what prices are and would it be worth it to make them to sell. We're talking 250's, 500's, and 750's as well as some smaller stuff. Ideas?

    Clean-up

I use both ECB's and the Smoke Vault. I enjoy the cooking and most certainly the results. Unfortunately, clean-up of either is a wall-eyed bee itch. Question: What is the easiest way you have found to clean the things after use? Question: When my wallet next begins to leap out of my pocket...

    Turkey "Fatties"

Only after discovering this forum did I learn about "Fatties." Never being one to leave well enough alone, I immediately realized the similarity between the one pound roll of sausage and the one pound roll of ground turkey. I intend to smoke a "turkey fattie. " Any experiences or suggestions...

    Turkeyfryer Burners

I have noticed several references to using turkeyfryer burners in homebuilt/modified gas smokers. I tried to use one and couldn't get it to keep burning at temps below 300 degrees. I tried two different burners and two different regulators. Please explain how you made one work.

    Trying Different Woods

I like to experiment w different woods and different mixes of woods. In order to do so with a minimum of expense and trouble, I have found a use for an old Brinkman vertical smoker. I put an empty pan on the fire pan brackets. A farm plow disk on the water pan brackets. A disk is of much...
