I don't understand where there are so many post about people adding gaskets and RTV sealant to their smokers?? Smoke is supposed to escape from the smoker and be replaced by "clean" new smoke isn't it? I know when I was new to smoking and I closed the vent on mine to help increase the heat it...
My set up works great for cold smoking, but when I try to use it while hot smoking the flame 128293 consumes most of the smoke. I have the smoke coming in about 5 1/2 inches above the flame. What can I do to help this?

Hello from the Pacific NW. I've been lurking SMF for close to a year and figured it was time I joined. I've had many different smokers over the years, currently I'm running a Smoke Hollow 38" and I love it. I've permanently added dutches baked beans to my menu.
