    Small Pretrimmed brisket...First time!

AK1, that is correct. except cooking temp was bumped up to 250 for that last 1 1/2 hours. No idea on IT when smoker shut off or when it was pulled off the smoker. My wife beat me home, pulled it out and had begun slicing when I got home. I did do some chicken and stuffed jalapenos which all...

    Small Pretrimmed brisket...First time!

I think I may have rushed it since it started getting late and I was planning to deer hunt that evening and it be ready to eat when I got home. At about 165 I wrapped in butcher paper and put back into the smoker and set the timer to turn off in almost one and half hours which gave it one hour...

    What's your occupation?

Guess I can update this now... I did make it through the hell of nursing clinicals and am now working as an RN in a Level 1 Trauma Center, meaning we see the worst of the worst. When something bad happens, they bring or fly you to us! Over the 3 years I have been there, I have seen some pretty...

    Small Pretrimmed brisket...First time!

I bought a new electric smoker on Black Friday and decided to attempt to try a brisket. I started small due to price and bought a small pretrimmed 3lb brisket. I would hate to waste big money ruining my first brisket! I seasoned it up last night and plan to cover it with bacon for a little...

What happened to the "original" char-griller mod thread?

Not real sure I am liking all these changes! I have never been on a forum that did not have stickies for important information, even those with wiki's.

What happened to the "original" char-griller mod thread?

I did that & came up with a bunch of them... I just could have sworn there was one that was a sticky or that at least pretty much covered all the mods for the Char-griller.

What happened to the "original" char-griller mod thread?

I could have sworn I remember reading through one when I first found the site. It showed the different mods, how to do them & why to do them. I cannot find it now!

    Small brisket...never done this before!

I definately will be going by temp, but was curious as to how early in the day to get it started. If it will not take but a couple of hours, I do not need to start it until later in the morning or early afternoon.

    Small brisket...never done this before!

My wife picked up a small trimmed brisket the other day. It is the smallest cutest brisket I have ever seen, weighing in at just over 2lbs. I have only tried a brisket once & ruined it, so I would love a little help with this one. I plan to smoke it at about 200-225 degrees...any idea how long...

Thanks everyone! I plan to compare the part # for the one on the site to the one at Lowes. I am also checking out Mel's as soon as I finish here...

    Cover for my Chargriller!

Anyone know where to get a good, THICK cover for my Char-griller with side fire box? I have gone through several that we get from Home Depot or Lowes, but they are thin & rip after a couple of months of taking off & putting back on. I know someone sells one...I was on a chimney fire call one...

Guess I just need to try some more & see what happens!

    Bitter tasting peppers?

The only time I tried doing anything with fresh jalapeno peppers, the peppers were REALLY bitter! Did I just get some bad peppers or what? I normally eat them on everything (canned or jarred ones from the store) & love them & have never experienced that bitter taste! Any idea what happened? I...

    A few CharGriller questions...

I have a chargriller with the side box...in the bottom of the main grill is a drain hole of some sort. What goes there to catch the drippings? I have a piece of wood under it now to keep the grease off my deck! Also, what can I do about rust on the cooking grates? A couple of them have a little...
