    That means the smoker is too cold to start! You need to heat up the inside temp sensor with a hair dryer or a pan of hot water for awhile. You didnt tell us where your located and what the outside temp is. Look in your manual at the troubleshooting guide.

    If you have the insulated model most say no water or liquid is needed. I took the pan out of my MES 30 digital.

    Do you have a non GFI circuit to try? I have also read some electric smokers need to be preheated somehow before they will come on. Pan of hot water, hair dryer etc.

    Thats identical to the side loader that most of us have. Can you return it before you start cutting on it?

    You can reverse engineer it by taking the inside apart so you can line up the hole to the chip loader. Still waiting for your picture.

    I cant find that one listed. Is the number correct? It will need airflow to get the pellets to burn properly. Can you return it?

    I always clean the racks ,pans and everything removable then burn it off at 275 for an hour before storing it. I guess it also depends on the climate it lives in.
