    Just checked it with multimeter. Comes in at17.5 ohms. also the leads look pristine. (like I said, this unit is only 1yr old.) If were to guess, I'd say the issue is with the control panel but could that trip the gfci?

    Agreed. i would suggest you purchase the recipes, then you can tweak them to suit your tastes!

    I just have the nice folks at Sam's crosscut a couple of racks of spares at about 3/4"-1" and smoke them up with a coating of Jeff's original rub. They're a big hit around here at the local VFW during Twins and Viking games!!! (and a big jug of Jeff's sauce on the side!!)

    Not trying to be a smart-alec here, but maybe it's your taste buds. I've heard that some medications can alter how things taste. You mentioned it happened in various restaurants. Maybe your "taster is stuck"!!!!! Just an idea.
