Smoked Pulled Beef Chucky (Step by Step)

Well I started at 8 this morning. Put the chuckies on (3.25lbs each) at 240* and lit up the Smoke Tubes. Well it is now 2 PM and they are only in the 130's! I was planning on a 5:30 serve time!

    2 Stalls???

I put a 7lb Pork Shoulder on the GMG pellet grill at 12:30AM. It has been on the smoker for almost 15 hours at this point. It stalled around 155* for a few hours but it is now stalled again at 185* for the past 2.5 - 3 hours. Is that normal? I was smoking at 225* but have increased the temp...

Cyber Week deals - Traeger or GMG?

An update: I exchanged emails with GMG and was told that a new controller board would be sent to me. It arrived yesterday and was a quick install. I was able to update firmware and attache to my home wifi so all of my technical issues were solved. I still think the app needs some work but as...

Cyber Week deals - Traeger or GMG?

I did my first cook on the GMG and while I had success, it was not without issues. I purchased the wifi model and was able to connect directly to the grill, but I was not able to connect the grill to my home wifi. I called support and was told the following: Make sure you can see the grill...

Cyber Week deals - Traeger or GMG?

I pulled the trigger on the GMG Daniel Boone Wifi. It was $499 which was $100 more than the non-wifi but I was sold on the feature. Planning my first cook with it!

Cyber Week deals - Traeger or GMG?

I have an Amaz-N tube for my MES 30 so am familiar with the difference between pellet and stick burner. I have a barrel that I will keep but I was hoping to do Tri Tips and such on a pellet grill. My other option is to pick up a Camp Chef SmokePro DLX on sale for $499 and add a sear box at...

Cyber Week deals - Traeger or GMG?

Hi, I am looking at taking advantage of the Cyber Week deals going on now. I can pick up a non-wifi GMG Daniel Boone for $399 or a Traeger Jr. Elite for $387. I have read that GMG's are fantastic and that Traeger's have dropped in quality. Is there other reasons to pick the GMG over the...

    First brisket (overnight)

Well all of your success stories, here is a failure.  I set the MES at 9:30PM to 220*, put two briskets on at 10PM.  Separated into point and flat. Temp hovered around 215 each time I checked it during the night.  Got up at 5:30AM and the meat was at 210* and two of the pieces were stiff.  Not...

2 - 15# fulls in an MES 30? Is it possible?

Thanks for the info!  Is there a post somewhere on how to remove the points from the flats? Also, is it bad to have the ends of the flat pressed against the side of the smoker? J

2 - 15# fulls in an MES 30? Is it possible?

I have been searching on the site and have not yet found anything.  I need to smoke 30# of brisket for my son's grad party.  I have an MES 30 and have about 14" x 12" racks.  I should have 4 racks, but I seem to have misplaced one of them. Should I cut the briskets to fit.  Should I fold the...

    Timeline for Grad Party Briskets?

2 fulls, probably 12-15# each, cut in half so they fit!  Cook temp is about 225* +/- 15* This sounds like a good plan.

New Years Prime Rib - Question

I am smoking a prime rib today per Bear's thread here: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/110433/prime-rib-new-best-ever It looks like a 6lb PR takes about 4 hours of smoking.  I have an 8lb PR.  Would that take about 5.5 hours? Thanks in advance!
