    Is there a trick to cleaning a regular meat thermometer?

    I did a smoke yesterday using regular meat thermometers and by then end of the smoke, the thermometers were very hard to read. My wife thinks I may have ruined them. Is there a trick to cleaning them?

    Paint bubbling inside of ECB

    Are you sure its paint? I'm new to smokers but on my 13 year old Weber gas grill a black residue was building up. I called Weber about it and they said what you see flaking off is fat from repeated cooking that has hardened on the inside of the grill.

    Congrats to you and your family! We had our first child last April and we just found out my wife is 8 weeks pregnant. Due date is 9/8/08 but if he's anything like my son, he'll be a month early and born on 8/8/08.
