I have a Chargriller Pro and had this ECB just sitting around and I thought it would work great for

That's why I'm adding the screws about four inches down from the top ones so I keep the support that holds the water pan UNDER the grate.  This way I have the best of both worlds.  Also since it's mostly tasso, bacon and small stuff like that they'll cook more evenly from grate to grate being...

I don't see how it wouldn't be hotter also.  With big roasts that wouldn't be to much of a problem you just rotate them.  But it would for the stuff I'd be using it for.  I was thinking of putting a mount for the grate using 1/4" screws about 4" below the top one.  I just thought of a recipe...

I didn't know that!  I got it as a very used gift.  Doesn't that grate get a lot hotter? Thanks

I have a Chargriller Pro and had this ECB just sitting around and I thought it would work great for

I saw the mod using the Smokey Joe as the fire box and picked on up on Craiglist for 5 bucks!!!  I haven't done the gasket or the temperature gauges yet but I did like the idea of using the grate for the water bowl as additional smoking area.  I'm going to use 1/4 bolt for the water bowl...

How to dispose of grease from water pan

Are you just using it to maintain temperature or to catch drippings also?  Some of the best ad hock sauces I've made have been from the dripping boiled down, degreased and added to the marinate or mop sauce.

How weather proof is the ET-732?

This is the third ET-732.  The first intermittently wouldn't turn off.  The second had HHH on one of the ports or the transmitter regardless of the probe.  this one seems OK but I let the lid slam and crushed the wire on one of the probes.  I got it to work again but I'll have to replace it.  I...

How weather proof is the ET-732?

This is the second time it's happened that it's started raining in the middle of smoking something.  I put the transmitter in a plastic zip lock bag but I'm also concerned about the leads for the probes.  I was thinking about using some heat shrink tubing on them to keep them dry.  Any...

    New CharGriller Super Pro W/Mods

Everyone thanks for the input.  From what I've read there are two ways to use the charcoal basket one is to start the coals at the bottom and add the rest to the top the other is the Minion method, I think, loading the coals mixed with wood and starting from the top.  The later seems to make...

I'm having trouble with temperature jumps when I add wood or charcoal will the basket help keep the temperature more consistent?

Have any of you found an way to easily remove the heating rack.  It comes in handy at times.  It's nice to have but seems like it's in the way if you want to smoke a pork butt of turkey.  I'm also looking at adding charcoal basket do any of you have the dimension of what will fit in the opening?

I need help dialing in my Chargiller Smokin Pro Model #1224

I've for the most part sealed the fire box and main grill (is there a tern for this).  I have to add some RTV to the firebox lid and a larger diameter gasket to the front of the hood on the main unit but that I've done is a huge improvement.  Using just the charcoal tray as the diffuser/baffle...

FYI Chargriller has discontinued the 2424 side fire box/grill.

It's not even listed on their website.  You have to get it third party. Marc

    Hello everyone!

I'm not a new but I'm far from a pro when it comes to smoking. I have a CharGriller 2121 with a side fire box that I've modified. The box is almost airtight and have added the baffles for better heat and smoke distribution.
