    The oval water pan has become one of our favorite cooking pans in the smoker (and in the oven ) LOL  I wish they made a wire rack to fit it that we could put stuff on to keep it off the bottom of the pan.       I use a 10 Gauge cord for mine - it will probably be ok with 12 gauge ,but I prefer a good clean current with as little voltage drop as possible. My $0.02
