    MES 30 Too Hot?

Gotcha! I am not overly worried about it. Was just curious if it was a common issue or not

I read May on their website, at least I thought I did. I am just outside of Greenville, are you in NC?

Oh I'm sure an Android app will be released very soon especially if Apple has it. Looks like an interesting product, I'm excited to try it out when it shows up at my doorstep (hopefully within a few weeks)

    MES 30 Too Hot?

Saw the same with mine. But it was my first time using it, I will keep an eye on it. I'll adjust the temp to what I want if the MES is going to run hot. Wondering if the mailbox mod (no heat from the AMNPS will fix part if problem (I doubt it is giving off 20-30* of heat, but it might get the...

Yeah, I have an older Maverick ET-72, and an ET-733 on order. I went ahead and ordered the iGrill2. I'll try to write up on it whenever it comes in, looks cool!

    Thin Blue Smoke... Maybe?

No worries bud, I PM'd you back.  Brisket did not turn out the exact way I wanted, but I know what to do differently for the next time.  It was still good and everyone liked it.   Thinking of doing some whole chickens next. Thanks again for the help!

    MES 30 Too Hot?

Thank you KCGuy!  I am thinking about moving the probe to the bottom of the smoker and placing it there as a second way to measure the heat of the box, and maybe just average the two out.  I'll get a separate probe thermometer to use for whatever I am smoking.  Also going to take Smoking B's...

    MES 30 Too Hot?

Thank you Smoking B!  I have been looking into the mailbox mod, and thinking about it.  Might be something I do in the future.

    MES 30 Too Hot?

Thank you!  I was looking at the Maverick ET-733, and almost bought it, but I saw an advertisement for the iGrill2 so I pre-ordered that to see how that will be.  I like the idea of being able to run it through my phone. I still might get the Maverick ET-733 thought as well.

Thanks Smoking B - any suggestions on something aside from the stock MES one?

    Thin Blue Smoke... Maybe?

Thank you hickorybutt!   It looks a lot better now, I guess with some time it thinned out even more and has a grayish/blueish tint to it.

    iGrill2

Hi everyone, Has anyone else pre-ordered the iGrill2?  I saw an ad for it, and it looked like something I would be interested in, so I went ahead and pre-ordered one. The probe-thermometer I am using seems to be pretty decent, but I am looking for something a little more accurate and the big...

    MES 30 Too Hot?

Hello all, Has anyone else run into problems with their MES 30 running too hot?  I know per the instructions that a +/- 1-10° is normal, but I had my MES 30 set at 275° and it was reading around 300°.  Cut it back to 225° and it was running around 245°. I have it going with the AMNPS (lit on...

Dry run with AMNPS on the MES 30

I bought a pretty nice cover off of amazon for my MES 30.  It fits really well.  Granted I have only had it for a few days - it is quality made and seems like it will be great.  I keep my smoker on my covered deck.  It won't be in direct rain/sun/etc but it is outdoors and has a chance of...

    Thin Blue Smoke... Maybe?

Hi Bear, I sent you a PM regarding my brisket, just a couple questions after reading your Step by Steps. I feel like my brisket is cooking too fast

    Thin Blue Smoke... Maybe?

Awesome!  Very happy I signed up on these forums.  You guys are outstanding with the quick responses and the helpful info. I do have two last questions though.... Brisket questions. I have been reading up on briskets, rubs, marinades, etc.  and the method I am going to do is, Smoke in a foil...

    Thin Blue Smoke... Maybe?

Hey guys! Thanks for the responses. It has been smoking for a little over an hour - The smoke is no longer blue, but still slightly thin and very steady. Is this what I am looking for? It's not billowing puffs. I could be paranoid, I just want to check with all of the smoking-veterans out...
