High Temps (300+) With Masterbuilt Pro Gasser

I know if you're using wood or charcoal as fuel instead of gas it's easier to start low and work up, but with gas I've found it difficult. I had to play with the valve on the tank to keep it below 270 but the flame is either out or jumps up to 300. My 4-ish lb shoulder got to 197 in 6.5 hours...

High Temps (300+) With Masterbuilt Pro Gasser

Hello All,  I'm hosting 20+ people next weekend and doing a pork butt, and it's my first time doing one so I'm doing a test smoke today. It's also my first time using my Maverick ET-733 thermometer. The problem is (that I am just now seeing) with the water pan full, top vent wide open, bottom...

Anyone use or prefer ss rib racks?

Thanks. I have a Masterbuilt Pro which has 4 shelves so I haven't had a big enough crowd over to need to create extra space.

Anyone use or prefer ss rib racks?

I know some people use stainless steel rib racks that'll hold multiple slabs of ribs but if you're not short on cooking area, is there any point in using them? I figured you'd want the broad side of your ribs to lay horizontal rather than vertical. Anyone have some insight?

    Gameday Smoked Chicken Wings

Yesterday I smoked 8 lbs of chicken wings for gameday. It was a great day for Mountaineer fans, a bad day for ohio state fans and an awesome day for everyone who was at my house. I have a Masterbuilt Pro gas/charcoal smoker and so far I've only been using gas. I used a mix of larger hickory...

    Hello from Columbus, OH

First pic was with the smoker full. Two racks of wings (5 lbs) and then two half slabs of baby backs and spare ribs (I was able to cut it St. Louis style from a post on here). The ribs after they were done. I've read to use use 2-2-1 for BBs and 3-2-1 for spares. But I had a total cook time...

    Hello from Columbus, OH

Hey guys! I'm relatively new to smoking, but have been pretty successful so far. I have a Masterbuilt Pro duel fuel vertical smoker and it's worked well for me. So far I've smoked salmon, chicken wings, and ribs and look forward to learning a lot from this forum as well as being able to share my...
