I just wanted to give a shout out to the Customer Service at ThermoPro. One of my probes went out. I called them and told them I needed a new probe. They shipped me one no questions asked. Great to have a good Customer Service department to deal with. I really like the TP20 unit.
Well fellow smoker if I had to guess I would point at the heating element. If you can get to the leads and know how to use an Ohm meter, I suggest you try to take a reading. I am not sure what the element should read but MES should be able to supply you with that info. May not be the answer but...
Glad to have a Rep on the site. MB customer service is tops on my list. They have jumped through hoops to make sure that the issues I had were addressed in a timely fashion.
I haven't had my MES 30 long enough to do a whole lot of experimenting yet. However, after the way I did this last slab I don't think the wife will allow me to vary far from the method I used.
Well I just had to try the MES 30 again. They were the best to date. The wife likes them nearly falling off the bone and moist. Both of the criteria were met. I did 3-2.5-30. I definitely will do the next batch the same. Bon Appetite.
You might want to look into the cold smoke unit from MB. I to was having problem getting sufficient smoke. I ordered the cold smoke unit from MB and it works just fine. I do not permanently attach mine to the smoker. I just shove it into place, fill it with chips, plug it in, and let it do it's...
I am going to assume that you want to cold smoke something like cheese, by the way it is really good. You can not cold smoke such items with any heat as they will end up being a gooy mess. If this is what you want to do then you will need to find a way to generate smoke with very minimal heat...
I am fairly new to the electric side of the smoking business. I have found out that you can not rely on the temp probes that come with the MES units. Your Mav probes are probably OK. I have also found out that it is somewhat of a challenge to use a temp probe on ribs. I am not saying that some...
I to use the MB cold smoke unit. I am not sure why they call it a cold smoke unit as it really does not cold smoke per se. I do not use the attachment to hook the unit to the MES. I also move my MES in and out of the garage. I have marked the pavement where I sit the MES at. I have adjusted the...
I just recently purchased an MES 30 from Lowe's. The first lesson I learned was that it was not going to generate smoke at a rate that suited me. I purchased a Cold Smoke unit from MB. It uses chips and without soaking them I can generate smoke for quite a long period of time. I don't know how...
Well you might regret asking as you will see I really have no secrets. I will explain in detail how I cooked them dudes,
MES30 Gen II
First off be sure and check your temperatures in the oven and the meat probe with a known reliable source if you haven't already done so. I found that mine...
Since you just purchased your smoker, I am going to assume that you have a Gen II, with the cylindrical chip tube on the side. I also just purchased one and IMHO you are never going to be satisfied unless you find some auxiliary device to generate smoke. There are several folks here that like...
