Thanks y’all, really appreciate it as I’m a novice; Jeff’s instructions were spot-on! It really was tasty and we had a lot left so it went into the freezer…bones and all…so it will get used for all manner of things. Already used some of the inner-most meat (less smoky) for a quick stir fry.
We...
Thanks y’all….got a TON left! The plan is to Sous Vide and a quick sear when we eat it next…and again….and again ;)
Tonight’s dinner is Brisket and Burnt Ends.
I’ll need a diet after Christmas, NY Eve and Day (crab legs on NYE and Greens/Blackeyed Peas/Sausage/Bacon on NY Day here in Arkansas)...
Turned out great but a little disappointed for the lack of smoke except on the outside. Family loved it which is good because these things are huge! We’ve still a lot leftover with some food n the freezer.
Thanks. After some reading, I’ll narrow things down to Inkbird, Thermopro and Thermoworks….i have one of their instant-read handhelds and it’s fantastic.
Any real-world reports/recommendations? Looking for something wireless that displays on my phone if possible.
Of course there’s a bunch on Amazon but reviews there are always dodgy.
I’d like to get the wings really crispy after smoking and wonder if this has been done successfully. I don’t really want to fry traditionally if possible and we do love that air fryer.
After a lot of hand-wringing, I finally bought a Smokin' Brothers Premier Plus 30"; the 'barn' version. Found it brand new a couple hours away for a very good price so thought I'd give it a go. Currently aiming for a Thursday delivery so hope to put it to use this weekend!!
I kept coming back...
This seems to check all the boxes for me but little intel out there. Has anyone had first-hand experience with this particular model or others in the Barq series? There’s a local company that stocks a couple so I’ll pop over but thought I’d hit y’all up first. Cheers!
Thanks y’all. I didn’t mention I have a MES 30 now and while the temp swings a bit now and then, I manage to cook on it fairly well; Spatchcock Turkey on Thanksgiving was awesome! Only problem I have with it is being too small; I want to cook a couple full briskets and full racks of ribs...
So I guess y’all are saying to ignore the ‘need’ for wood chunks which is totally fine and helps narrow things down. Now I’ll concentrate on finding front-loaders.
I’m having a tough time deciding which route to take here but do have wants/needs that might help narrow things. Having posted several times similar questions, I’ll apologize in advance.
Budget is $2K or less preferably, space for this is 40” wide and outside. I’ve narrowed down to electric or...
Thanks for the reply. I’d probably buy the cart as well since I’m not doing a built-in. Reason I’m looking at this one is the front-loading pellet box….and Smokin Brothers for same reason. I’ve only a 40” wide space and want to maximize grill cooking surface capacity and having the pellet box on...
