    Throwdowns and such

Food is meant to be eaten, not photographed. If there was a way to actually taste the contestants' submissions, then, you have a contest. Unfortunately that cannot be done over the web.

    Mower Parts?

Pro Parts Direct is another you can try. Google Toro Timecutter SS3300. Rear Wheels and others should pop up. I have been repairing mowers for 40 years and the quality just isn't what it used to be with companies selling out to others and the government regulations being place on them...

I figured I should give a follow up since I posted it in the open forum (prostate biopsy)

Hi @DougE When my biopsy was taken the results showed a slow growing cancer. I had the option of radiation or removal of my prostate. I chose the latter. Fortunately I made the right decision. Following the robotic surgery my urologist sent my prostate out to a pathology lab for examination...

    NY PIZZA

Pizza looks fantastic. Crust looks like fermentation and hydration was perfect. I prefer to use a 50/50 mixture of flour and Semolina when placing my dough on the peel. The Semolina acts like tiny ball bearings and avoids dough sticking to my peel and baking steel. If it tastes as good as it...

    Ink Bird Product promo?

I am always asked to participate, but since I had a bad experience with Pay Pal I do not use it anymore. Ink Bird does not accept any other form of payment so it's unfortunate for me!

Can We Have a SMF Hall of Fame?

I as well truly miss our deceased members. I learned everything I could from them and it made me a better smoker, cook, and baker. One of my favorites was daveomak. He had posted a hilarious description of a gastric issue he had once. It was so funny that I peed myself laughing. I have...

    In honor of Bear Carver

John was a great guy. Followed my son's high school baseball career as well as followed our local football team. Always took the time to say hello and offer kind words. A better man could not be found. . .I miss him dearly!

    Sous Vide Pichana Help

Usually for Christmas I prepare a standing rib roast. Since this year's group will be small I have decided to do a Pichana, Sous Vide with a reverse sear. Since I know nothing of Sous Vide, I would appreciate some advice from the experts. I will be vacuum packing the meat but that's as much...

    London Broil for today

I overfilled the Weber baskets with charcoal and allowed the grill to heat for 10 minutes. I added the meat and it took exactly 45 minutes to reach 145˚F. The additional fuel compensated for the freezing temperature. The London Broil came out perfectly. I hope this information can help anyone...

    London Broil for today

Thanks Chop, High temperature today in Pittsburgh is 32˚F. I will be using Weber baskets on each side with the meat in the middle. Turning at 75˚ until internal temp reaches 145˚. Will keep you posted as to how much additional time was added to the cook. Thanks again, John

    London Broil for today

Had the turkey yesterday (thanks to Jimmy J's brine & instructions. . .God bless his soul) so since the entire family is coming over this evening I have decided to make London Broil. My question to you all is that since the weather is in the mid 30s and I am using my Weber Charcoal Grill (...
