    Oakford 790 Pellet smoker

A few things to note. I have never had pellet dust in any of the food. When I flavored the grill I didn’t notice it either. One thing, I clean the grill after two smokes…I change the tinfoil on the drip pan, use a grill brush on the grates and then bought a cheap 1.5 gallon wet/dry vac ($15) to...

Congratulations!!! You’ll love it. Most recipe ideas Congratulations!! That’s a great price. Have you ever smoked anything before? I got recipes here and there but learned the hard way using an old fashioned “Rocky Mountain “ smoker. I learned the hard way. If you’re not familiar with smoking...

    Oakford 790 Pellet smoker

Other than wifi flaking out once, there’s nothing I’m unhappy about. Since an update it’s been solid. It’s easy to clean, holds temps as well as my friend ‘s Traeger and love the wifi aspect of always being able to check “the smoke” Btw I was at Rural king on Saturday and they had a wifi pit...

    Oakford 790 Pellet smoker

I didn’t do a test for n temp accuracy but all items I have smoked cooked evenly. I can tell you the left side cooks slightly hotter but I don’t know how much. I laid a row of sausages and those on the left were don’t about 5 minutes sooner over a 2 hour time period that’s pretty even. I’d say...

    Changed how I do ribs…wow!

My wife and I could not believe how fast they went. These were a "side dish" at our friend's house. The main course was Filet mignon....the ribs stole the show---I felt kind of bad though...nah...LOL

    Changed how I do ribs…wow!

Far better----there was a nice bark that wasn't too pronounced. The meat was consistent from first bite to the last. I believe the 2-2-1 method has its place on "manual smokers" where temps fluctuate more rapidly. Also, I can't explain why, but when I ate one cold today, it tasted exactly how...

    Changed how I do ribs…wow!

For the past 5 years or so I’ve been smoking ribs on my Weber Smokey mountain smoker. I would do a basic pork rub and the 2-2-1method. Now I got an Oakford 790 and decided to give it a go a different way. I got the 3 pack of St. Louis style ribs from Costco, rubbed them with a home made Memphis...

    Oakford 790 Pellet smoker

First time I did wings…they were amazing! The weird thing is we used a modified basic pork rub, did 40 minutes at 225 , then cranked up to 300 for 45 minutes then finished then off at 400. Also, first time with the onions. A little bit of garlic and olive oil and smoked for 1:15 along with the...

    Oakford 790 Pellet smoker

Kentucky is where we’re looking at moving. Our daughter now lives in Beckley, WV and our other two kids will be moving closer as well. Anyway, here’s some pictures of my set up. This thing is heavy as all get out. Feels more solid than my trusty Weber grill

    Oakford 790 Pellet smoker

Right now I have a Weber Smoky mountain and have used it for 8-9 years. I love it and it's in great shape. However, I last year at my nephew's, he had a pellet fed, wifi Traeger. I instantly fell in love, until I heard the price---he spent about $1400 and that ended my search. However, a few...
