2 WSM’s in my corral. They work. Super simple to assemble and operate. I actually have more fun with side pit stick burners. Owned many basic side pit smokers over the years. A good reverse flow is hard to beat as well. I own a Lang 36”. She’s a fuel hog but does a great job. Never been a...
Similar story with me. I used off-the-shelf/assembly-required sidepits and wore them out. Brinkmann, Char Griller, Char Brolier and 2 WSM's. The Brinkmann and Char Griller/broiler were decent. They were fuel hogs that required constant supervision but it never bothered me. I enjoy being...
As for the pet test, my dogs will eat anything. I think one of my dogs is part billy goat. He has eaten an XL pizza box, pieces of wood, plastic wrap, Christmas ornaments and one time he ate a half full carton of copperhead bb’s. So it’s unlikely they would refuse the cooked meat.

The entire body swings open on the side in the pic. Inside there are a set of metal articulated arms that form the shape of a giant rib cage over which the hog is supported and maneuvered. They asked me politely to not photograph their clever setup, hence no pics of the metal rib cage.
This was an amazing event. I was there to learn but I also had a blast.
I learned that I need to dramatically up my game before I can compete. Huge sponsorship is the envy of every team. That said, it is also important to have fun and enjoy the experience.
The team I was allowed to join...
