All day long. Any variety or flavor. It’s the secret of many BBQ teams. It can be found in many grocery stores across the nation. I can only find the mustard based in the south but you might be able to find this where you are . This stuff is under $20 for a GALLON on Amazon. That’s a lot of sauce 😃
I have a Traeger Ironwood 650. Zero issues with the Traeger Grill. I remember having an app issue a while back, called TRAEGER and got an actual guy on about the 3rd ring. I didn’t even have to jump through 7 menus to get him. He walked me through the issue and I haven’t had a single one...
I used to wet brine now I skip it. Slather your breast, pieces or whole chicken with any REAL mayo mixed with your rub of choice. You will never taste the mayo and the fat in the Mayo will keep your chicken loaded with juices . Take it to 165 if you want or 160 and foil tent rest and let it...
This place is a wealth of knowledge. The people here will shave 5 years off your learning curve and save you a lot of money. Keep at it and you will be nailing it by football season. Reminder that your lump charcoal is made out of oak and hickory. My wife doesn’t like heavy smoke either. You...
Frozen solid . Took about 4 days to thaw in and out of refrigerator . Foil wrapped with 1 can of Beef Consume and 1/4 bottle Kosmo Q Brisket Mop. Great flavor. A little salty so I might cut some of the consume with water next time or just cut back on the amount used.
I have my second brisket ever in my refrigerator right now with Sucklebusters 1836 on it and wrapped in Saran Wrap until I put it on tomorrow night . Never used Sucklebusters before so I am in uncharted territory
🤣🤣 this reads like so many of my cooks . I want to hang out and drink beer with you . To make you feel a little better… I am currently cooking on a Traeger and I have dumped POUNDS and POUNDS of pellets on my patio when dropping the pellet door without having a bucket under it to catch them. I...
DAY ONE
I will keep this thread alive and add my defrost times plus the cook.
FULL DISCLOSURE I have ALS and had to move from a Kamado Joe to a Trager Ironwood 650 for obvious reasons. I have realistic expectations because I have been using this TRAEGER for about 2 years . It‘s definitely...
Thanks for all the reply’s . I will definitely post pics and follow up on this. I did figure out how to override my oven temp to get it to hold lower than what is displayed. I can get it down to around 150 even when the display is reading 170 . The trick is remembering to bump it back up...
Thanks . I appreciate it. I might bump the temp in my fridge a degree or 2. I had it set that low because it’s perfect for beer. Like I said, I’m in no rush.
This is my second brisket and my first was a complete disaster. That was about 6 years ago, seriously.... it crushed my soul and made...
I have about a 13 pound brisket that is frozen solid. I‘m talking weapons grade solid that would make the dinosaurs extinct if dropped from a plane. I’m on no timeline so I’m not looking for a rush to defrost. I plan on doing it in my refrigerator that I keep on around 34 degrees.
1. About...
i watched this just the other day. It’s a little long but you can FF to the point he discusses the design of his offset grill that has the firebox inside the grill. Hope it helps
This might help or might be close to your issues
I had a slab of Wagyu Plate Ribs from Meat N Bone and put them on my Traeger Ironwood 650.
Lumberjack Oak in hopper
A few chunks of hickory on 6 X 6 plate. Lit like charcoal, burned for about 10 minutes, blew it out for smoke.
I use whatever oak or hickory pellet I have for fuel then chunks on...
Nice! I love a good burger. I learned something the other day on YouTube. I tried it and it works. After you slice up your onions, place them in a bowl and toss them in a little salt and let them sit while your pan is heating up. you will notice a lot of onion juice in the bottom of the...
Me too . Then the first time I cooked with it blotches appeared and I Was bummed because my pretty pan turned ugly. Then I started to just cook with it. Butter, lard, Grapeseed oil, bacon grease, Wagyu spray, olive oil etc. My pan looks like a zit faced teenager but it’s beautiful now. Nothing...
