    Saw an flyer for Giant Eagle yesterday that listed their store grind certified Angus Burger blend for $1.99 per lbs with no limit noted. Generally chuck, steak and roast trimmings. It's 75/25 , I usually buy 80/20 but at this price well worth it. Will make great burgers. It's an hour from me...

    I'll have to check out the Asian instant coffees. Wonder if they have decaf? I've cut my caffeine out almost completely but have been enjoying an instant in the mornings. I add 1t of regular instant to 1T of decaf.

    I have went back to using xanthan usually. A huge trick I learned in the last few months is to dissolve xanthan in fat. Ir you mix it in a little oil or butter it's 100% no lumps. Crazy how good it works.

    Bang for your buck steaks.....

    I'm working on using up most of the meat in my largest stand up freezer this spring /summer/ fall. I plan on buying a whole cow in the fall. Local beef here is affordable and the quality at a couple of the farms is insanely good.

    Has anyone else lost their tolerance for heat?

    For me it's a matter of how often I have spice. In times if making super hot sauces my tolerance becomes high as I eat it often daily. I haven't so much this winter and notice that things that is usually consider whimpy have more of a bite.
