Luckily didn't ruin any food. My wife asked what the turkey temp was, I looked on the app and saw inactive. Took the lid off and temps came back, placed the lid back on and they went inactive again.
Thanks, the cloud now matches the app.
Also, it looks like both my probes are finally acting similar. They are lasting 50+ hours when set to 3 degree intervals.
One last comment. Please let Mr. Owen know that one of the main reasons I keep giving him my money is the ThermoWorks support team...
And while we have your attention, why does the cloud give options for 0.5, 0.7, 1, and 2 degree intervals but the app shows 1, 1.5, 2, or 3 degree intervals?
These results were from the latest firmware update, unless there is something newer than 1.1.29-46. What is the latest firmware version? I'm getting tired of removing my device and adding it back just to force a firmware update with the hopes that a new update has been released, so I don't...
I had been leaving them out on a counter where the temp in my house would only fluctuate 10 degrees or so, which I knew would not be very indicative of real world use. I appreciated your comments with results from use while actually cooking. Even with them just sitting out on the counter I was...
This should have been 'phased out' before release. I feel like the pre-orders ended up being their beta testers. Don't get me wrong, I love Thermoworks but the roll out of this product has been botched every step of the way. I held off on purchasing the meater and other wireless probes because...
Well, some probes do have the potential to go the distance with FW 1.1.29-46. Probe M100015574 lasted 56 hours and 21 seconds.
I'll be patient through one more firmware update, and if that doesn't fix the earlier probe, I'm going to request that they replace it.
Yep, I meant degree. Thanks, I'll update it to avoid confusion.
What the heck, maybe I'll do that next.
I'm not home right now. But just checked the app. Probe 2 is still going with 10% left. It's passed the mythical 50 hour mark.
I left that second probe running after the first one died around 8 hours, it's still going this morning with 10% battery left. I'm running gateway firmware 1.1.29-46 and the probes' firmware are 1.2.1. Here are my serial numbers for reference.
Probe 1, 1 degree intervals, ~8 hours, M100006047...
I'm curious too. My probe that is lasting around 8 hours was one of the first shipped, it was part of a starter kit that shipped on October 21st. The one that has been going for 22 hours and is still at 60% was a single probe shipped on November 6th. The serial numbers are about 9,500 apart.
Tested firmware 1.1.29-46 today. 1 degree probe is dead after 7 hours, 3 degree probe is still at 100%. So inconsistent. They are nowhere near fixing these and I'm probably killing my batteries by running them down and recharging over and over so I think I'm done messing around for the time...
I can confirm, I'm home sick today with nothing better to do so I tried pushing another firmware update. I now have 1.1.29-46 installed.
Such a clunky way to update firmware, having to remove and re-add the device to the app is so unnecessary, why no button to press on the settings page like...
Firmware update seems to have helped. Here are my results from 1.1.28-45.
One probe set to 1 degree intervals lasted just under 14 1/2 hours and the second probe set to 3 degree intervals lasted about 18 1/2 hours to zero. The gateway lasted less than 20 hours before the low battery alarm...
I just tried updating the gateway firmware tonight since it didn't work last night. When adding back the gateway to my account, it told me it was updating the firmware. I checked and it's now version 1.1.28-45.
My app was already updated to the version they pointed out in their email, but they never did say what the current firmware version for the gateway should be.
I replied to their email after I tried to update the firmware and asked them what the most recent version is. They haven't replied yet.
I've tried following their directions when I got home from work tonight. My gateway's firmware is 1.1.20-43, I wasn't smart enough to see what it was before I started but looks like yours is newer than mine.
They released an app and firmware update. Here's their reply to me when I emailed them about my battery issues.
"Thank you for reaching out regarding your RFX Gateway and MEAT probes. I'd be happy to get you some additional information. We released a firmware update for the RFX Gateway and the...
