       I will get pictures when I get home. The slanted drip tray is still in it but I have been told by others that it is not as wide. It does not seem to affect how the unit heats. I do not use the water try in it so that leaves a hole about half the size of the tray open.

    Actually I like this model better than the Gen 1 I had. It heats more consistent and the temp is closer to the set temp of the unit. The temp measured at each rack with my maverick is closer in temp than my Gen 1. So far so good.

    daRicksta, This model is not one of the new Bluetooth models. After speaking with them I learned that they came out with a new 30 and 40 non Bluetooth model as well in 12-14. This model I received is not a Bluetooth model.

    MES 30" element problem - shorting out

       dp4126, I have also been having problems with a heating element in a MES 30 gen 1. The element is getting so hot that it actually produces a flame. I have been told from electrical people that have looked at my unit it is due to circuit boards controlling the element giving it the wrong...

    Ok just had this unit delivered to me. The only difference i see is that the vent is on the top left of the unit instead of on the side. It does state that the unit is a new model release December 2014.

        I agree Bearcarver and themule69, I can not find any info on this unit at all except for the info masterbuilt sent me. I have ask several times about the unit being a bluetooth model and several including the head of CS have assured me that it is not but is replacing the 2007??12 model.

    Masterbuilt sent me the manual in pdf form in a email. The pic with it is just a drawing in black and white. They told me it was for sale since Dec 2014 but I can not find it anywhere. I checked again today with the CS rep that is taking care of me and that is Def the right model number.

    It is not on there site and no I believe it is a gen 3 but am not sure. I have searched and can no find anything but have the manual for the smoker and it is the right model. I have talked to them several times to make sure the model was 20077615 and it is this model for sure.
