We went through some troubleshooting, ran some test and they confirmed I need a new heat baffle and control panel. Should have a new one by next week under warranty.
Thanks for the response. So far the smokes have been coming out pretty good, so no complaint there. Just a tad frustrating when I set the smoke at 225 and The temp spread seems so off
So I purchase the Traeger pro 22 and the temp swing is out of control. +- 20 in either directions. Anyone have a solution to this? I’m looking at getting the Savannah Stoker to replace the control panel. I don’t know how much more I can watch the temp swings.
How many of you guys actually put your thermometer probe away when you’re done using it? I have a bad habit of just disconnecting the probe from the unit and keep it in the grill. Now that I have a fireboard and what the cost was, would it hurt to just stick to my bad habit or should I actually...
I did not check for tenderness. I just smoke it to an IT. I was aiming for 200, but the additional 2 came pretty quick. Are you referring to toothpick test?
I did have a pan of water in there. ..actually I put three 4 hours into the smoke. Kinda forgot. But I will try putting a pan directly under the brisket next time.
Team- I need your assistance here. For some reason I cannot smoke a brisket. Again it (5# brisket flat) came out dry. Not sure what I am doing wrong but here was my process.
