I have three of them and haven't had an issue with them dying. The only issue I have had lately is that if I accidentally shut down the app (android) and restart it, the probes won't reconnect. The newer one will but the older two will not. Not sure..
Range is same as Meater. I have used Meater but never liked its signal range. Got a ThermPro TempSpike with a 500 ft range and really like it. They also have one with 600 ft.
The yoders now use the Fireboard as the controller for the smokers.
The Blaz'N are roughly the same price as the Yoder. With the Blaz'N you have to add the accessories you want like WIFI, insulation shield in lid, etc

They look great!!! With pickle brine, it doesn't take long to impart flavor, the longer you go the more intense it will be. When I do Chick-Fil-A tenders for my daughter, about 30 min is enough.
