    Toggle latch attachment

The original handle on my fridge build finally gave up. I ordered some adjustable toggle latches but I'm wondering about how to attach them securely without having to dismantle the fridge to get to the inside. What did you all use?

    2nd build. Guess I'm hooked

So I really need to stay off Facebook marketplace. I stumbled across this beauty and snagged it for $75. It is fully complete. The guy sold it because the compressor died. It is a Firestone, which I've never seen. No O'Dea on year yet. My first build thread is here somewhere. It was a...

    Turkey Fryer help

That is kind of what I was thinking too. Aluminum is reactive. For frying turkeys who cares cause it's oil. But I do a lot of crawfish boils and the seasoning and lemon isn't really good for aluminum over time.

I bought all the vents. They were galvanized so I soaked them in vinegar overnight to strip them. The insulation I bought is heat rated.

    Smoking in a snow storm

    Digital meat thermometer recommendations

Bluetooth sucks. Range is the problem. So you have to get one with a remote or one that can do wireless to an app on your phone. My dad and I both have the inkbird irf-4s. Amazon is the only place I found it with 4 probes. Inkbird only sells with 2 and you have to order the other 2. The 1500ft...

My build thread - old GE

I was nervous when I first lit the box. It was rolling smoke really heavy but after about 30 mins it leveled off to a nice thin blue.

My build thread - old GE

Been a long road but here is the result. Got racks built despite my horrible welding skill. Then base built for wheels and painted. Heat seasoned with the electric element. And now rolling some heavy first smoke. Need to put a gasket on the firebox door but otherwise turned out great.

My build thread - old GE

Final assembly complete and ready for paint. So many hours. Gotta make racks and then burn in.

    New member with a question

The aluminum wont hurt the food. The seasoning will hurt the aluminum over time. Aluminum is reactive. Stainless is more long term and more durable. That's why you see stainless in the higher end stuff. Clean it after every use and it will last a long time. No worries
