    Homemade Dogfood

I have been grinding up deer and elk meat the last ten years for the dog. Not the entire deer, just the stuff we don't use for making sausage. He gets a half cup of dry food morning and evening, and a 1/4 lbs of ground meat for dinner with a sprinkling of the dry food. I even holler out...

    Porkapalooza 2.0!!!

Where in South LA? I have family in Livingston Parish, we make a trip down every year to get sausage and seafood. After seeing what you have made up, I could always swing by and take home some of your leftovers!

How should I smoke with this setup?

Well, the great thing about that COS is you can probably smoke cheese in the middle of summer. Maybe even butter?

South Louisiana Blue Crabby 4th of July

Nothing better than a crab, or crawfish, boil, family/friends, and cold beer! My wife and I went to MS gulf coast for our wedding anniversary and brought back 40lbs of cajun sausage and 5lbs of lump blue crab when we passed through LA on the way back home. There are only two places that I know...

Thank you so much! Next time I'm down in town I will pick these up and give them a try.

    Oxygen Therapy Lines

Great idea and execution! But I have a question as my wife is on oxygen and the exact same problem that you had. Where did you find the swivel connections?

    Joke, but true

My mum-in-law (yes, she's from England) still uses the phrase, "Up Jack's @$$ in America!" roughly translated to, "AS IF!" I think. I've asked her numerous times exactly what that means and she just says, "That's what my own mum always told me." I still don't have a clue.

    4 pheasants in the smoker

Thanks for posting this up!  I've been very leery of trying to smoke pheasant due to the worry of it being dry.  I'm guessing the brine is the trick to moist meat?

    AMNPS in MES 2.5 30"

I've found putting the pellets in the toaster oven for 20 min works better for me rather than nuking them for some reason.  Then again, I'm at 9100 feet in elevation and have switched to the tube as the maze just wasn't working up here.  Depending on what I've got in the smoker determines where...

    New Colrado Member

Welcome to the site from another in CO, though not quite what you would consider a neighbor.  I live west of the Springs about 40 miles or so.  Just a word of caution, I had to learn my smoker all over again when we moved up here last year as we moved from sea level to 9100 feet.  You shouldn't...

    Lesson of the day....

Don't worry too much about it, I've heard finger grow back like a lizard's tail.  I've not had to test that theory myself but I'm pretty sure I read it on the internet so it must be true.

My local butcher shop is on fire.

I hope they can recover as a good butcher shop is hard to come by.

    Blackstone 36" griddle

I just tested out a small stainless grill this past week camping.  Cooked up bacon great on myr table top grill but never got a chance to use it for anything else.  Truth be told that is what I bought the grill for but I may try it out at the house.

    My take on grilled cabbage

I'm not a cabbage fan in the least but my wife is, and believe me, I pay for it anytime she eats it!  She has grilled cabbage over the years in a very particular way and she loves it, as do others, but I can't say if it's good or bad.  Well, at least for cabbage lovers, that is.  I know I don't...

    Squirrel For Breakfast.

NO FAIR!!!  I was really looking forward to seeing a squirrel omelet or squirrel gravy and biscuits.  Great photo but I'm still disappointed.

    Peach Jam!

My wife made some peach jam or jelly or some such thing just a few weeks ago.  I don't like peaches or anything made with peaches or anything peach flavored. She said it was good, though. I sure wished I liked more foods but the ones I do like tend to get me by.

    Finally got one.

Sorry to hear about your problem but I've never had a problem with any orders from AMAZN.  I've never had to contact Todd for any problems but I would say there may be a circumstance in his life that may be delaying a reply.

    Sunset...

This time of year we get beautiful sunsets due to the afternoon/evening thunder storms.  Great picture!

What to do with the gas grill?

I agree with robcava, leave it be and hopefully you'll find a deer or moose in it next time!  At worse, a hog or steer?
