Most rubs have similar ingredients, i.e. salt, pepper, sugar, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder etc. Proportions vary such that there are infinite combinations. Jeff's rub and the Big Bald rub share some similar ingredients in different amounts. Try them both - they are both outstanding...
Thanks, but that is too small.
I should have pointed out this is a cooking grate I'm looking for to replace the cast iron one that came with the Akorn Kamado.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
Anyone know where I can find a 19" to 19 1/2" charcoal grate to replace the cast iron grate on my Akorn Kamado?

Thanks again to all for great discussion and info.

I shake the ring to settle the charcoal, add the...
I'm looking recommendations on how best to run the probe cables out to the transmitter on a Weber Smokey Mtn. 22.5. The manual says not to run the cables under the lid.
I'm relatively new to smoking but I've been grilling for years. I bought a Char-Griller Pro gas grill , added a side fire box and started smoking. It worked OK but was hard to regulate temperature. I made several mods as recommended on that grill's forum but was not satisfied. I think the fact I...
