Test burn turned into a chicken smoke and the 110 fan worked very well to keep temps on an even keel.
I have an Assassin GF 24 on order which has a 120 with it so I will be very familiar with it when it gets here .

Just installed and doing my first burn test with the Pitmaster IQ 110 on my Oklahoma Joe Highlander. I purchased the 110 with the aluminum hose barb and then added a ball valve and extender pipe.
Once the fire got going I closed off the offset vent to just a sliver to allow the 110 to control...
I've always started my off-sets with pre-lit charcoal and then switch to all wood; although sometimes adding charcoal can help get the temp up. I find my wood fires leave less ash than charcoal and are less prone to choking out from lack of air flow during long cooks.
Actually, it was through google that I found a link to the latch idea here in these forums from three years ago. It was the only photo that I'd seen of the idea. The latches are gate latches that can be found at Home Depot (other places as well I'd suppose).
