I tried the foiling methods & just didn't like the way they turned out. Since then I've always done them for 6hrs straight smoke & have never been happier. I've gotten soooo many compliments on my ribs & truthfully haven't found better at any of the local joints. These are going to be one of my...
Sure you can, you'll just have to supply more charcoal or some other dry wood to sustain your heat. The green wood will smolder & not put off heat like dry wood will. Mix it in & let me know how you make out!
Rides great Terry, no shimmy at all. Even on some rough spots. Tongue weight is minimal, maybe 30-50lbs, she's pretty balanced. The tank's not as heavy as it looks, but the extra steel inside does add some heft. The trailer is almost as wide as the tank is, so I don't think it's an issue. Never...
Sorry for delay in updates, been a little busy. I've used this 3 times now & each time it just gets better and better! I can't stress how happy I am with it. It holds temp fairly well & really just does a great job. I've made chicken & ribs so far in it & both turned out just fantastic. I...
Now for some paint & detailing! Anyone know where to get a decent thermometer for the doors? I've looked around & found a ton.....from eBay to amazon & prices are very different. Any thoughts?
Temped it up this weekend for the first time. I was a little nervous, seeing how much time & money I've put into it, buuuuuuut....it turned out great. She held temp great. The plates do a wonderful job of holding the temp when refueling is needed. There was about a 6 degree difference between...
OK, HUGE update!! Finally got it home yesterday after a ton of work. It took me long enough, but I learned to weld (not the best at it, but hey!) and got to make it the way I wanted to. I have thank my friend Shaun profusely for the time, energy & patience he lent me in building this...
Very nice BB! I really like how it's coming out, can't wait to see her with some paint. I'm in the process of building one of my own & am having trouble deciding on hinges for my doors. I like the way yours look & was wondering where you found them?
FINALLY got it started yesterday! Decided to go with a direct flow rather than SFB RF, though. Got the doors cut & started burning it out. I'll be working on it again later this week so I'll grab some pics then. More burning(really didn't make a huge effort as it was late in the day) & a trip to...
OK, I gotta ask...how much does that thing weigh??!! It looks great, btw! As you know, I'm in the process of getting mine going with the same style tank & am looking for any ideas I can get. Looking at the size of your SFB, I don't think my trailer is going to be able to handle it, lol. I'm...
