Ya know, I tried the 3-2-1 several times and they were always a little too dry. flavor was great and everyone has loved them. I saw your post and thought I'd try them your way. when I put them on the table "she who must be obeyed" said they were the best I'd ever done. She agreed that she always...
Saw this post and WOW! I'm not the only one waiting on a controller! Used mine twice.
What caught my eye was the comments about China.
I read an article a couple of months back about their prices on things from there. It went on to say if you start checking where things are made, you'll find...
There you go Ronnie G. That's more like what I'm talking about. I'll give it a try in a few days. Don't have all the stuff.
Thanks to you other guys too.
El Poto is a brand name Mexican tomato sauce found in stores out here in the west.
I want to keep the sauce traditional with a Mexican flair. Not a full blown Mexican sauce. How about a semi-sweet Mexican sauce. LOL
Picked up some EL PATO tomato sauce (Mexican) the other day. Have a lot of chili powder. Was thinking of using them in a standard Q sauce. Vinegar, brown sugar and the normal spices. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Kat, and thanks for the biscuit and hush puppie recipes. Tried the biscuit recipe and they are to die for. Had them with some smoked polish sausage and some sorghum syrup for a snack. Yum yum!!
Never filled out my Roll Call.
I live in Shingletown California. 30 miles east of Redding. Up in the mountains at 3,800 ft. Get all 4 seasons. When I leave, it will be in a pine box.
Thought of around town as a good cook, griller, and smoker. Since I've been on SMF, I realize I've only...
Linguica,
Never said it was good (manudo) just said it was a great hangover cure. lol The goat meat had plenty of cayenne in it as did the manudo....but it sure straightened you out....LOL
I've only had goat a few times. It was cooked over a pit of some kind of orchard wood. It's been 30 years. Then they put it inside some kind of liquid. I didn't think I'd like it but I was surprised. It was great. I was living in central Calif. After partying all night Sat night, My buddies and...
All the input here is good. What I did when my meat was getting to smokey, was to cut back on my chips. I soak my chips. Then I put just 1 handful of the soaked chips in the chip box. Sometimes I used more but not often. The other day I christened my new MES30 with 2 chickens. I used 2 handfuls...
First off. I needed to pay closer attention to the dimensions. It was a lot smaller than I visualized. I think I would have bought a MES40 instead. I did 2 chickens on it and had to stack them on 2 shelves. Wouldn't fit side by side. The other con is that it took me at least 30 minutes to clean...
Thanks Dave,
I'll check them out. Was just telling Kat that I found them on Amazon. Same brand as you're showing. $4.49 a lb. Plus shipping!!!
No way. $2.49 is doable.
Thanks Kat,
We don't have Publix out here or any other southern & eastern chains. I just looked them up on Amazon/ $4.49 lb. dried. Plus shipping!!
They're my favorite pea but I don't love them enough to pay that!! LOL
Loved the looks of your biscuits. I think I need to be your next door...
I'm out here in California, And can't find crowder peas. I used to get Bushes crowder peas at Holiday Market. Bean counters took them off the shelves. (guess I was the only one buying them.) My aunt back in Georgia has been looking for them dried to ship to me. She can't find them either. Grew...
You're more than welcome Kat. Enjoy. I know that lima beans and potatoes are traditional but I like it without them and I love limas and potatoes. Might try it without thinning it down first. You might like it.
Now just how good are your hush puppies? My wife of 32 yrs died in '03 and took...
This is my great aunt Mattie's Brunswick stew recipe. She's 86 and probably got it from my great grandmother, so it's old and been around awhile. I asked her if she minded me giving it out. "Lord no Honey. You give it to anyone you want to. Good recipes are supposed to be shared." She lives...
