Burn pot filling up on Pit Boss vertical smoker

I'm going to keep trying some troubleshooting, and as long as they keep sending me parts I'll keep putting them in, but at some point I may just decide to throw in the towel. Are there other more "foolproof" smoker models that people would recommend? I don't really care about fancy features...

Burn pot filling up on Pit Boss vertical smoker

I'm not seeing an internal temperature probe. It obviously has to be there "somewhere", but I don't see anything on the back wall. Nevermind, I see it now. I need to try cleaning the probe, vacuum out the burn pot AGAIN, and start over. If that doesn't work, then it's yet another part swap...

Low boom from vertical smoker and embers on the deck

You are absolutely right. I had never had it run out of pellets before while cooking, but I opened the hopper up and it was empty. Along with that, the tray underneath was completely full of pellets and ash, so it looks like that is what allowed some embers to spill out onto the deck. I think...

Low boom from vertical smoker and embers on the deck

I have a Pit Boss Series 4 vertical smoker and I am a relative newbie to the smoker world. I have done a few pork shoulders, some briskets, and ribs in the past, but only on a very occasional basis. Yesterday I decided to smoke a pork shoulder for dinner. I cleaned the burn pot out in the...
