    Troubleshooting MES 30 MB20071117

Hi @geostriata, Actually that's a problem I solved back in January. The controller is very cheaply made and I think mine shorted out from the steam from the smoke and some condensation. I ordered a new one replaced it, and tested it. All was fine. However, if you lay your smoker down...

    Troubleshooting MES 30 MB20071117

Well good news: I opened up the door on the bottom and it was filled with liquid and grease. I didn't take the board out, but I wiped it down and scraped out all the grease I saw. bad news: Unit still hasn't turned on. Now that I have the door opened and exposed to the dry air, I hope in the...

    Sous Vide Burgers

    > Just curious. Is there any advantage to SV'ing burgers? Just like any SV food - you can cook multiple patties at once and they'll all be equally cooked to your chosen temp.

    Sous Vide Burgers

Thanks for the reply and idea, @DougE. I do have a hibachi grill that I have yet to use after I've SV burgers. My thought is that, for what I've noticed, it takes awhile for the charcoal to heat up and I'd only need it for ~5 minutes.

    Sous Vide Burgers

How do you sear it - in a skillet or grill? I'd like to get a portable propane grill so that I can heat it up quickly and sear the burger after I SV it.
